The Four Years is an artist-made calendar that Nicholaas Chiao took four years to complete. He made different marks on it every day for about 4 years to create the final glimpse of this composition. The prevailing color here is white - a color of paper complemented by black and multicolored marks made by the artist. Each day's marks symbolized the day's events, including personal, environmental, and political ones.
