Artwork Description:
Fisherman's Dream is a colorful abstract painting suggesting the elements of a fishing net within. The artist conceived it as an immediate response to the work of Zimbabwean painter Portia Zvavahera, on view at David Zwirner Gallery. In his composition, Chiao organizes multiple elements around the center of the fishing net, with circles, polygons, and stripes subordinate to the central element of the multi-colored net.
